Launched in January 2003, the Bluebridge service is Strait Shipping latest passenger/freight ferry service to cross Cook Strait - a stretch of water, that separates the North and South Islands, operating between Wellington in the North Island and Picton in the South Island. |
The Bluebridge ferry service operates two 136 metre 'Roll On/Roll Off' ships with four vehicle decks for 150 vehicles, 2 passenger decks for 370 passengers, using computerized navigation and ship stability equipment, to make crossing Cook Strait a safe and enjoyable experience. |
The Bluebridge ferry service provides full passenger amenities, open air deck space, Passenger Lounge with free big screen movies, a Kiosk and Cafe serving snacks, light refreshments and meals. Complimentary tea/coffee is available during the crossing. |
